I have a Urine Infection (UTI)

If you think you have a urine infection, simply drop off a urine sample at the surgery and fill out the form the receptionist will give you. Please do this before 1pm (1300) and we will test for infection.

You will be informed of the outcome and next steps. If antibiotics are needed, this will be sent to your nominated pharmacy.

You can get a urine specimen bottle from reception or buy one from a pharmacy.

We have toilet facilities where you can collect the sample.

Symptoms of a urine infection can be one or more of:

  • Burning when you pass urine
  • Frequency – Going more often to the toilet
  • Urgency – Having to rush to the toilet
  • Lower tummy pain or lower back pain
  • Change in smell or color of the urine
